Next Concerts

Saturday 14th May 7.30pm, St Fin Barre's Cathedral

The Orchestra under its longstanding conductor Keith Pascoe and leader Eithne Willis, is delighted to announce a concert to be held on Saturday, May 14th 2022 at 7.30pm in St. Fin Barre's Cathedral, Cork. We are very excited and grateful to be able to return to performance after an absence of two years. We very much hope you can join us for this event after what has been a very difficult period for us all.The concert, which will be compered by Eibhlin Grant, will feature Mozart's Concerto for Flute and Harp with soloists Maria Mulcahy on Flute and Eimear MacDonagh on Harp. Maria is well known to Cork audiences as a soloist, orchestral player and chamber musician. She has a Masters Degree in Flute Performance from CIT Cork School of Music and her solo engagements include a concerto performance with the Cork School of Music Wind Ensemble, solo performances with the Cork Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra and Flute and Piano recitals in Cork, Limerick and Dublin. Eimear, was recently awarded first place in the TU Dublin Conservatoire Senior Recital Competition 2022 where she studies Harp with Dr. Cliona Doris. She has been harpist with the National Youth Orchestra of Ireland, the Cork Youth Orchestra and the Cork Fleischmann Symphony Orchestra.We are delighted also to be joined by St. Fin Barre's Cathedral Choir in a performance of Mozart's Missa Breva in D Major. The choir, which was first mentioned in manuscript in 1328 has a long and illustrious history in Cork. Under its Music Director Peter Stobart, the choir performs every Friday and Saturday in the Cathedral and has undertaken tours in Germany and Wales in recent years.The orchestra will also perform Wagner's Siegfried Idyll and the concert will conclude with Beethovan's first symphony.
